Dr. Somaya Tawfiq Hanafi is a distinguished ophthalmologist with a specialization in oculoplastics and orbit surgery. She completed her fellowship training in oculoplastics and orbit at the King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH) in Riyadh in 2013 and obtained her Saudi Board of Ophthalmology certification in 2012. Dr. Hanafi's educational journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery from King Abdulaziz University (KAAU) in Jeddah in 2006, where she graduated with very good grades. Throughout her career, Dr. Hanafi has been committed to continuous learning and professional development, as evidenced by her participation in numerous conferences, workshops, and symposia both locally and internationally. She has gained expertise in various areas of ophthalmology, including injectables for functional and aesthetic purposes, advanced tips in laser surgery, and ocular ultrasound. Graduated Dec 1982 from Ain Shams University Egypt and worked through the diploma, masters and PhD and earlier attained the General Egyptian Fellowship of the Egyptian Medical Society. A fellow and examiner of the RCPSG and on the review board for the American Journal of Ophthalmology Case Reports. I am presently a neuro-ophthalmology consultant at Plymouth University Hospital Royal Eye Infirmary UK. I have established the neuro-ophthalmology service in The National Eye Center NEC (Rod el-Farag) as well as Watany Eye Hospitals both of which I still supervise. Keen on education I have established a training course for all ophthalmology skills as a one-to-one transfer course (OST) started at the Egyptian Fellowship Program, then continued at Watany and NEC and developed to train trainers who continue the course at NEC to date. Initiated an ongoing online international neuro-ophthalmology 11-month course for doctors who seek to subspecialize in neuro-ophthalmology. Ongoing now for the fourth class (DANNOVA) I continue to teach and lecture at Plymouth to all those who want to learn as well as online and have three lectures in Arabic recorded on Youtube. Dr. Ahmed Awadein, MD, FRCS is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Cairo University. He received his doctorate degree from Cairo University in 2003 and his ophthalmology fellowship degree from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2004. He acquired clinical fellowship training in Johns Hopkins Hospital in Maryland, USA in 2006, where he received an intensive medical and surgical hands-on training in the field of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. Dr. Ahmed Awadein is specialized in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus and has performed over 15000 strabismus operations to date, including complex and recurrent cases. He has over 50 international publications in the field of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus and has developed a computerized test to assist in the evaluation of patients with diplopia. He also participated as an instructor in various national and international conferences and is currently the secretary general of the Egyptian Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (EAPOS).

Dr. Ahmed Mostafa Abdelrahman, MD, FRCSED. A professor of Ophthalmology, Cairo University, since 2009 till present. In 2015, he achieved the Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Total Quality Management (TQM) for Healthcare Reform. He is the founder and president of the Egyptian Society for Continuous Ophthalmic Education, 2015. He is a glaucoma consultant with national and international publications and innovations in the field of glaucoma surgery with interests in non-penetrating glaucoma surgeries, Laser trabeculoplasty and childhood glaucomas. He is a glaucoma reviewer for several PubMed prestigious Ophthalmology Journals. He is the owner of the Giza specialized Eye center, a tertiary glaucoma care facility. He is the director of the certified glaucoma workshop program since 2019. 2016, the Royal College of Edinburgh council appointed him to be an examiner in the college exams. Dr. Al Busaidi completed her residency in ophthalmology at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada followed by a clinical fellowship in glaucoma at the same institution. Currently, she is a Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist and serves as the Director of the Glaucoma division at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, a University Medical City site in Muscat, Oman. Additionally, she is the Deputy Head of the Ophthalmology Department and the Residency Program Director at Oman Medical Specialty Board. Saurabh Jain is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at the Royal Free London NHS Trust and honorary consultant at UCLH and recently appointed Professor of Ophthalmology at UCL. He is also the academic lead for year two and the senior personal tutor at the RFH site for UCL Medical School. He has a special interest in adult strabismus, paediatric ophthalmology, and cataract surgery. He started his ophthalmology career at Kings College London, continuing as a specialist registrar at the Leicester Royal Infirmary where he undertook further advanced training as a fellow in adult strabismus surgery. He also completed further specialist training in Paediatric Ophthalmology at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. He is committed to teaching and training and has mentored several residents and fellows over the years. He has been awarded the Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) by University College London and the Fellowship of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO). He runs two successful training courses annually: the London Eye Course and Binocular. He is the senior international examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and examines for the International Council of Ophthalmology and the European Board of Ophthalmology. He is a council member of the European Strabismus Association (ESA) and on the research and adult strabismus committees of the American Association of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS). He has a keen research interest in strabismus and ocular motility and has authored multiple research papers, textbook chapters, and books. He regularly presents his research meetings worldwide and has given several invited lectures.

I've been an ophthalmologist for the last 23 years, with special interests in pediatrics and strabismus. I graduated from Baghdad Medical College in 1989. In October 2000, I successfully graduated from the Arab Board. To start my journey in ophthalmology. Having an interest in teaching residents so I became a member of the local scientific council for the Arab Board in 2009. Then chairperson for the local Scientific Council Science 2011 till now.
